About Us

The Methodists have been meeting in Killingworth/Clinton for over 185 years, first in homes and schoolhouses; then in a rough building erected in 1830; and in the present building since 1855.

As befitting a denomination whose founders, John and Charles Wesley, wrote many hymns, this church enjoys its music - whether singing from the United Methodist hymnal or listening to the large Hall Pipe Organ, a baby grand piano, the orchestra, the Chancel Choir or the men's quartet, The Methodaires III.

We have a love of learning through excellent sermons, Sunday School, bible studies, children's church, book discussions and craft groups.

We serve others with enthusiasm. Teams have gone to Costa Rica, Haiti, Mississippi, West Virginia, and New York to build and rebuild homes and churches. Every Wednesday we host a Soup Kitchen where eight churches and civic organizations serve nutritious meals.

We open our doors to the Boy Scouts, the Woman, Infant and Child program of Middlesex Hospital and Alcoholics Anonymous on a regular basis.

We have fun with occasional board game afternoons, apple picking excursions, potluck dinners, and various  entertaining outings.

Please come at 10 at any Sunday morning and be inspired, meet new friends and find ways to serve the Lord.
